ESU 13 PD :: Weblog :: Developing a new web page . . . www.bannercountyschool.org . . . any advice?

June 25, 2008

Banner County School is currently in the process of developing an updated web page.  As we navigate this process, I am wondering if anyone has any advice about what to include or how to design the page to maximize the potential to improve the educational environment for our students, staff, and community.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Our new domain name will be www.bannercountyschool.org

Currently the site links to our first school webpage.  As we develop a new site, I imagine that we will have a "rollover".

I hope that everyone is having a great summer!

  1. The work you have done to involve your entire staff in the process is a great start. There are a number of staff members that are already actively creating content on their WordPress sites. Although the district pages are important, I really believe dynamic teacher pages are much more valuable. Teacher pages not only provide valuable information for students and parents, but also give teachers the tools to become actively involved in world wide learning communities. I will continue to be available to provide whatever support is needed as you move forward with this project.

  2. Looking at the website, I notice a lot of empty white sapce on the right hand side of the whole page. It looks like your only using half of the page. It may look better if more of the page was used and the information was divided up equally. Just an observation.
