What a great day. As part of the preparation for this workshop I created a Moodle course, Science Learning Community, to share resources with the participants. I also used the Feedback activity within Moodle to gather workshop evaluations from attendees. Here are a few quotes to give you a feel for the success of the day:
Question: I am glad you...
"that you brought up so many interesting topics concerning science education as well as the new developments in technology for the classroom."
"were so well organized and knowledgeable regarding 21st learning. I have a new set of "tech" eyes with which to look at my teaching and how my kids will learn best!! Going to give some of the web 2 items a try, wish me luck. Especially like the moodle site to exchange info--Thanks!"
"addressed the world and education in the future. "Did You Know" was a highlight for the day. I enjoyed learning new technologies and how to use them in my classroom. It was presented in a comforting way so the old-timers could actually have hope and help knowing we could accomplish these tasks."

One of the other huge successes of the day, was the participation of numerous community members with ties to science. We had short presentations from people representing: natural resources district, Riverside zoo, Scottsbluff National Park, Agate Fossil Beds, Wildcat Hills Nature Center, Area Health Education Center, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife. Links to web sites for these resources are also available on the Moodle site. I would like to thank this group for their contribution to an outstanding day of learning.
